Custom Google Analytics Dashboards You Shouldn’t Live Without

It’s no secret, I’m an unabashed data nerd. Nothing brings a numbers geek in the digital marketing world more joy than finding ways to harness the power of Google Analytics. Sadly, not everyone shares my sentiment. For those of you who wince at the idea of spending time divvying up data to make sense of the big picture, I present to you, Google Analytics dashboards.

While this isn’t exactly a new offering, it’s certainly an under-appreciated and often overlooked tool that deserves far more recognition. From building out monthly reports to monitoring marketing initiatives, Google Analytics dashboards make life oh-so-much easier. So what are my 5 top custom dashboards I just can’t live without? Well, read on my friends and test them out for yourselves!

1. AdWords Performance Dashboard



Questions this dashboard will answer:

  • How much revenue or leads did AdWords get me?
  • How much did I pay Google?
  • How many clicks did I get?
  • Which 5 campaigns gave me the highest revenue or leads?
  • Which 10 Ad Groups gave me the highest revenue or leads?
  • What do my expenses vs. revenue or leads look like?
  • What are my top 10 products in AdWords (ecommerce only)?
  • How many AdWords purchases or leads were made on a laptop or PC?
  • How many AdWords purchases or leads were made on a tablet or smartphone?
  • What are my conversion rates?
  • What are my bounce rates?

2. SEO Performance Dashboard



Questions this dashboard will answer:

  • How much revenue OR leads did I get from organic traffic?
  • How many visits did I get from organic traffic?
  • How many organic visitors were new to the site?
  • Which keywords delivered the most revenue OR leads?
  • What were my top, NON-BRANDED organic keywords?
