Divorce can be one of the most stressful, complex, and painful processes faced by an individual. It severely impacts all those it touches from the husband and wife, to their children, relatives, friends and colleagues. Unfortunately, divorce has become all too common. Some statistics claim it destroys half of all marriages in the U.S. That made us think about how society is – or is not – serving such a large community. And we know from experience, because one of us is a divorcee and the other a child of divorce. We have suffered the stigma of divorce in different ways. We have dealt with loss, the acceptance of new families, the often painful adjustment to change and so much more.
