Microsoft has major issue again

It was released today that there was a major flaw found in Internet Explorer that has existed since IE 5 and still exists in Microsoft's beta version of Internet Explorer 8. There was a vulnerability found that allows hackers to be able to steal passwords through your browser. Luckily, so far to date, it appears that it has only been used for stealing gaming passwords. As soon as criminals find out about it (if we know now so do they), it most certainly be used for stealing passwords to financial accounts, shopping accounts, etc.
Most security experts are urging users to switch browsers as soon as possible until Microsoft can at least release a patch. Microsoft is currently working on an emergency patch but there is not currently an ETA for its release. There have been some suggestions to a temporary patch such as switching your Internet Security Zone to "high" but this is not guaranteed to work. Microsoft is obviously not couseling users to switch browsers at this time claiming that is affecting only 0.02% of the Internet World and is mainly focused on IE 7 users. In my eyes, this is something that can and will spread very quickly.
We would strongly urge all users to switch to Firefox immediately until Microsoft can guarantee that this security hole has been fixed. Firefox can be downloaded for free from Mozilla at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/.
**Update (12/19/08) - Microsoft has finally released a security patch for this bug. If you have turned on Automatic updates, your computer will install the update automatically. If you don't use Automatic Updates, go http://update.microsoft.com. This update may cause your computer to restart. With all of the security issues that Internet Explorer has, we still suggest switching to Firefox.
