ColdFusion vs. Rails

So I suppose that the point I want to make here is what exactly do they say negative about Coldfusion in the video? Name something rails can do that Coldfusion can't. The only thing we get blamed for is MySpace, which I'll admit is pretty harsh, but it doesn't have anything to do with the technology in place.

People can call ColdFusion a dead language and embrace the Rails and open source bandwagon all they want. But look who Adobe backs, ColdFusion, they've got it 100% integrated into their suite of software. Need Flex to talk to a database? You have to get something like AMPHP for PHP or something similar to that for Rails. Flex talks to ColdFusion out of the box.

I could come up with 5 or 6 more examples but I'll spare you from that in this post. I'm planning on doing a series of posts here on this blog that will compare how you do common tasks in each language so that you can see for yourself that Coldfusion is alive and well, not a dead language as some people want it to be.

Hi, I've been learning Coldfusion for the last few years, and overall have had a good experience. However all my programming friends seem to think that Rails is the way forward. I'm having a hard time finding people that back Coldfusion up in the same way. Why do think Coldfusion is the best platform?
