Edreamz employees are world-renown for their sharp wits,
socio-political awareness, and ability to think on their feet. Each week
we select a member of our staff and put him or her on the spot -
challenging them to assert their opinions on topical, relevant,

While E-dreamz' primary focus is on production, we also set aside a little time for consumption. On Friday afternoons we posse up and take a break from the work schedule to hold palaver at a local foodery. The 'Edreamz Eatz' entries chronicle these late-week moments of respite, and detail what we think is good (and not so good) about Charlotte's business-lunch restaurant scene.

Shopping online can be a scary thought for your average
consumer. It’s an unknown that almost only gets negative PR when credit cards
are stolen or hacked. While this does happen sometimes it’s a little more than
just an inconvenience. Credit card companies and merchant websites have secured
and streamlined the process to protect the consumer.
I recently was able to sit down with Fox Charlotte reporter,
Audrina Bigos, to go over some ways a consumer can also prevent credit card theft
online. Watch the video here.
Here are a few other methods you can use to help secure your
online purchase:
1.
Use a virtual credit card - Major banks often
offer an application in your online banking that allow you to create a throw
away/short term virtual credit card number. You can even limit this virtual credit cards
limit to exactly the amount you are looking to spend with the retailer.
2.
Type the merchants name into Google. If users
have had bad experience in the past you will likely find large volumes of
complains related to the company.
Overall shopping online is just as secure and safe as giving
your waiter or large box retail cashier your credit card. They use nearly
identical systems and suffer from the flaws. In the worst case scenario you
will have to call your bank, report the fraud charges, and wait a few days for
a new card.
